imk provides two software versions of ema. With the stand alone solution ema can be used for visual modelling of manual work activities based on work tasks and for reporting purposes related to standard time measurement and ergonomics according to EAWS Standard.

 

TiConema connects the MTM time measurement method with the visualization of digital human models. The combination of these software components  »TiCon®« (MTM) und »ema« (imk) should help engineers in planning of complex and holistic manufacture processes. 

ema

The editor for manual work activities (ema) is a holistic planning method based on a digital human model, which carries out self-initiative work instructions. For this purpose, the abilities of a skilled worker are integrated into a knowledge-based 3D software solution, so that human work can be planned, simulated and evaluated in a human-motoric valid way and with highest efficiency.

The main idea is planning with the help of so-called ‘tasks‘. These comprise – following the usual descriptive forms for manual work – fixed defined scopes of work equipped with a basic quantity of parameters. By means of the parameter assignment + the execution time of the activity is determined for the entire task by internationally recognized procedures (particularly MTM) + and a complete technically and ergonomically correct 3D visualisation of the work process is created.

Typical tasks are for example:

  • removal of a workpiece from a container
  • inserting into the device
  • welding of welding spots
  • mounting of an aggregate with screws
  • application of adhesive beading with a length of metres
  • impressing of clips

Several facts for time measurement and ergonomic analysis will be generated beneath all neccessary postures for the digital human modell. The results will be displayed in real-time. Furthermore ema provides detailed reports which could be exported in diverse file formats.
